The Boston Globe reports that supporters of the health care law are actively encouraging Vicki Kennedy to “sell” the new law to skeptical Americans:
Health care reform advocates are urging her to be part of a team that will help sell the new law across the country, to preserve Democratic seats on what is expected to be a painful Election Day for the party. She’s thinking that one over.
While Americans certainly respect Vicki Kennedy, this is unlikely to sway public opinion on the health care overhaul.
Vicki Kennedy’s outspokenness on the health care issue did not derail Scott Brown’s candidacy in January’s special election because most Americans – and apparently most voters in Massachusetts – opposed President Obama’s health care agenda.
Supporters will continue to do everything in their power to “sell” the overhaul, but they will continue to find an unreceptive public.
