The Obama Administration is catching flak for its new ad featuring Andy Griffith singing the praises of the health care overhaul.
FactCheck.org takes issue with the claims of the advertisement here.
More disturbing to some critics than the deceptions in the ad is the fact that it cost American taxpayers $700,000.
And for what? To persuade skeptical seniors that the health care law benefits them?
President Obama and Congressional Democrats have long been hostile to ads by insurance and pharmaceutical companies.
In fact, here is what Congressman Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) said following the passage of the law:
“I think American people are going to be happy to know that when they spend their health care dollar it's going to go to medical expenditures not advertising, not CEO compensation.”
Well, they’re not happy, Congressman.
At least not in Missouri where 71 percent of Missouri voters voted on Tuesday night to reject the individual mandate – a central component of the health care law.
It would seem that $700,000 can be better spent on patient care.
